Lions Club of Hahndorf Wins Premier’s Award

The Hahndorf Lions Club won the prestigious Premier’s Award at a lunch organised by ACSO (Association of Community Service Organisations).

The Award presented by the Minister was for the most outstanding project of the past year, from amongst all projects put forward by the Service Clubs involved – Zonta, Soroptimists, Rotary, Kiwanis, Lions and Apex.

The project put up be the Lions Club of Hahndorf and proposed and organised by Lion John was ‘Strength for Life’ Gymnasiums.

The Award was presented at a luncheon attended by 138 people from the six organisations and included both the Minister for Volunteers and the Shadow Minister Rachel Sanderson.



Our new Environmental Project launched on 5th June 2015 "World Environment Day"

The Hahndorf Lions club in conjunction with Terracycle Australia are now recycling  cleaning packaging waste, such as;

  1. Hand wash pumps
  2. Body wash pumps
  3. Beauty product pumps
  4. Cleaning product triggers
  5. Laundry liquid taps
  6. Dish tabs plastic bags
  7. Beauty product tubes
  8. Face wipes packaging

When you have finished using your cleaning, laundry and beauty product pumps, triggers and taps, bring them in to our recycle site at the Hahndorf football oval to be recycled.

We are also recycling Golgate products such as;

  1. Toothpaste tubes and caps
  2. Toothbrushes
  3. Toothbrush, toothpaste and floss outer packaging
  4. Floss containers
